Method
Keep all the ingredients ready.

Clean, wash and devain the shrimp really good. Add some turmeric powder and wash it, so that it will be clean.

In a kadai heat oil, add cumin seeds  and let it crackle.

Add curry Leaves/karuvepillai and wait until it turns crispy.

Add finely chopped onions, green chillies, little salt and saute well until they to golden brown color.

Now add 1.5 tbsp of ginger & garlic paste and saute until raw smell vanishes.

Add the chopped tomatoes and saute well until they turn mushy.

At this stage add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and saute well for about a minute for the raw smell to vanish.

Add the prawns and mix really well.

Now add 1/4 cup of water and let it boil for about a minute.]

Now add 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1 tbsp of coriander leaves and mix really well.

Let the prawns cook for about 10-12 minutes. Keep stirring in between. Slowly the oil will start to release on the side of the kadai, stir well for another 5 minutes and it will reach thokku consistency.

At this stage add 1 tbsp of finely chopped coriander leaves and mix it really well and switch off the stove.

Note:
Shrimp cooks real fast, so if u keep it in the stove for very long time it will turn very chewy.
I always wash all the sea foods, chicken or goat meat with turmeric powder when they are raw so that when you cook you will not get any smell.
