Simple Egg Kurma/Egg Drop Kurma/Udaithu Utriya Muttai Kurma -How to make Egg Drop Kurma

Yummy and Simple Egg kurma....


Ingredients

Onion
1 big chopped
Tomato
3 chopped
Green Chillies
3 slit
Ginger & Garlic paste
1 tsp
Cumin seeds
½ tsp
Red Chilli powder
2tsp
Coriander powder
3 tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Coriander leaves
2 tbsp finely chopped
Salt
As needed
Oil
2 tsp
Coconut
½ cup shredded
Eggs
5

For Tempering
Oil
1 tsp
Cinnamon Sticks
2
Cloves or kiraambu
3
Curry leaves
4
Fennel Seeds
½ tsp
Preparation Time: 10-12 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Method

In a kadai heat 1 tsp oil add cumin seeds, Onions, tomatoes, green chillies and sauté until soft and cooked. Later add the ginger & garlic paste and sauté. Let it cool down and grind it in to smooth paste.

Grind the coconut in to a smooth paste and keep it aside.


In the same kadai add 1 tsp oil, add ingredients mentioned for tempering, now add ground onion & tomato paste. When it starts to boil add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Add required amount of water.Let it cook for 10 min’s.


Add the coconut paste and boil it for 5 min’s.


Now put the stove in low flame. Break the eggs directly in the gravy in 5 different spots, close the gravy for 10 min’s for eggs to cook.

Garnish with cilantro and egg kurma is ready to be served. 


You can serve egg kurma with pulav, ghee rice or chapatti.

      1 onion approx 50-75 gms
      tomatoes around 150-200 gms
