Milk Peda with Milk Powder & Condensed Milk

Hello friends,

Today I am going to share a delectable and luscious Milk Peda, as a special treat to all my readers, subscribers, fans and friends. I know you all should be wondering what the special occasion might be? Here it is, Priya’s Virundhu has crossed more than 1000 likes in facebook. Thank you all friends and fans for all your likes, support and encouragement. Do try out this lovely Milk Peda and post your feedback.

Here’s how to make Milk Peda with step by step photos…

Ingredients

Milk powder
2 cups
Condensed Milk
1 can
Butter [melted]/Ghee
½ cup
Cardamom powder/Elachi
¼ tsp
Milk [warm]
2 tbsp
Saffron strands/kunguma poo
8-10

Method

In a big bowl mix the condensed milk and milk powder thoroughly.

Soak the saffron strands in warm milk and keep it aside.

Heat butter in a non-stick kadai, add the milk powder mixture and start stirring for about 12-15 minutes on medium heat.

Now add the soaked saffron strands along with the milk and stir really well.

Add the cardamom powder and mix really well.

Bring down the heat and continue to stir until it becomes thick for another 10-12 minutes. Add more ghee if needed. When the mixture is really thick like paal kova consistency, switch off the stove.

Let the mixture cool down for 10 minutes or until it is warm enough to handle with your fingers.

Now grease your hand with oil/ghee and make small balls [lemon sized] from the mixture and then flatten it slightly in the middle to make the pedas.

Similarly make small pedas until all the mixture is done.

Delicious and lovely Milk Peda is ready to be enjoyed. Store it in airtight containers and enjoy.

Note:
  • If you are really cautious about calories, you can use skimmed milk and light condensed milk as well.
  • But when using light condensed milk, you will have to stir for longer time almost 40 -45 minutes.

Thank you all for visiting my website, please come back again for more simple, delectable and traditional sweet varieties.
