Mushroom Do Piaza

I have had Do Piaza several times in Indian restaurants, but never ventured in to making one. Do Piaza mean “two onions”, it gets its name because onions appear twice in the cooking process (Google). I came across many recipes, but after all the experiments I settled with the one below from yummy food for tummy. Since I am on fasting for this week and the coming week I am posting all vegetarian dishes and here’s mushroom do piazza, you can very well replace the mushrooms with chicken or mutton.

So here’s how to make Mushroom Do Piaza with step by step photos…

Mango Chocolate Marble Cake [Egg less & Butter less]

This Mango Chocolate Marble Cake is for the second Home Baker’s Challenge started by Mrs. Priya Suresh and hosted by Mrs. Sangee Vijay. Thank you very much Mrs. Priya Suresh and Mrs. Sangee Vijay for this wonderful and exciting challenge.

This month challenge was to bake mango and chocolate cake announced by Mrs. Sangee Vijay. Though she gave both egg and the eggless version, I chose to do the eggless and the butter less version which was simply superb and yummy.

Mushroom Biryani/Kalaan Biryani

Since it was a vegetarian day and I was running out of all vegetables but had a big box of mushrooms so I thought I will make a mushroom pulav.  But I was getting really bored to make a pulav, so decided to make biryani.

I remember seeing mushroom biryani in sharmi’s space, but I made changes by grinding different ingredients and believe it or not it tasted like mutton biryani and made my day. Everybody in my house was happy and gobbled it up, so I am sharing it with you all. It is a great one pot meal perfect for parties and get-togethers.
