Easy Uppu Urundai/Neer Urundai/Kaara Kozhukattai

This same uppu urundai is otherwise called as kaara kozhukattai for Vinayaka Chathurthi in India. Vinayaka Chathurthi is the birthday of Lord Ganesh celebrated all over India and many other parts of the world by the Indians. Kozhukattai is nothing but a rice dumpling made by steaming, it can be made both sweet and spicy version. Here I have made the Kaara Kozhukattai/Uppu urundai/Neer urundai the spicy version and I will be posting sweet version of kozhukattai in the future post. MEanwhile do check out other interestering and tempting Starters/Evening Snacks/Appetizers here.

Not everybody has time to soak, drain and grind the rice to make the traditional uppu urundai, if you are one among them here is the way to make it.
