After the whole whet dries, dry roast it on medium flame and transfer it to a plate and let it cool.

Now dry roast boiled rice and roasted gram one at a time. Let everything cool down completely.

Now preparing the porridge…

Take 2 tsp of kanji powder/kanji maavu, add 1 cup of water, ¼ tsp salt and mix really well.

Cook this mixture in low flame until it thickens. Keep stirring continuously to prevent the kanji from burning.

Now add about ½ cup of milk, mix really well and switch off the stove. Add required amount of sugar/jaggery/panagkalkandu to the kanji for taste.

Delicious, healthy and filling Ragi Kanji is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it for breakfast or just as evening snack for kids after school.
