Thayir Oats/Curd Oats – Oats with Yogurt Recipe

Thayir oats is nothing but curd rice version in oats. It is one of my favourite comforting food and great to have during summer. In South India, thayir sadam is generally served at the end of the meal. It is also offered as neivedhyam in temples and distributed as prasadam to everyone. When making curd rice, we usually do not add onions, but here I have added onions for extra taste. You can very well skip the onions and make the Thayir Oats as well. Do try out this healthy Thayir oats and post your comments here. Meanwhile do check out other interesting Oats Recipes and other Breakfast recipes here.

Jigarthanda is the most popular drink which originated in the South Indian city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Jigarthanda is a unique milk based drink, with two main ingredients Badam Pisin and Nannari Syrup[Indian Sarsaparilla] which has a cooling effect on the system. Badam Pisin is an edible gum collected from badam/almond trees. Badam tree bark secretes the gum and it gets dried up, which is later collected and used for medicinal purposes/ They look like little rocks which are white in color and an excellent natural body coolant. Badam Pisin is a natural jelly which can be consumed by everyone to beat the heat. Also check out how to make Badam Pisin Milk in the link and enjoy.

It is an excellent blood purifier and a wonderful health tonic. Nannari syrup is an effective home remedy for stomach disorders, indigestion and relieves body pain. Pesarattu Recipe/Green Gram Dosa Recipe/Pesarattu Recipe/How to make Pesarattu with step by step photos and Video

Pesarattu is a very unique and a delicious dosa/crepe from Andhra Pradesh. It is made with whole green gram, the kids fall in love with this pesarattu  for its green color. It is very healthy and protein packed breakfast. This dosa does not need fermentation, can be made immediately after grinding.
Health benefits: It is highly rich in  fiber and protein. One cup of cooked green gram contains about 15 g of fiber and 14 g of protein. It has both insoluble and water soluble fiber. The water soluble fiber helps in reducing the cholesterol level. It digests slowly and gradually releases glucose, there by stabilizing the blood sugar level. Now lets see how to make pesarattu. Meanwhile do check out other interesting and healthy Breakfast Recipes here.
