About Me

Welcome to Priya's Virundhu. First of all I thank all of you for stopping by my website. I am , author of Priya'sVirundhu. "Priya's Virundhu" means "feast from me" [Virundhu means Feast in Tamil]. I am your next door girl, bringing all very common and delectable recipes from my kitchen to yours. I live in Chennai and have great passion for travel, reading, music and cooking, especially trying out different cuisines.

My great inspiration is my mom. I always admire her traditional and healthy ways of cooking. I have learnt and am still learning a lot from her. Both my parents are from Nagapattinam (Thanjavore District).

I have a caring husband and two loving daughters. They are my first critics and great fans of my cooking (Guinea pigs). I am very happy and thankful to god to have given these three loving people in my life.

Priya's virundhu is all about food, that I learned to cook from my mom, my sis, tried recipes given by my friends, cook books, TV shows and magazines. Especially I am a great fan of Chef Dhamodharan. I have learnt and cooked many of his recipes.

I am trying to document my recipes in to a digital diary, so that it can be referred later and also will be useful to people who are new to cooking. All the food that I am posting here comes right out of my kitchen to yours.

The thought of creating a blog started when many of my friends have asked me for recipes so I thought I will share it with everybody with this digital diary.

One final request…

All the contents and photos in this blog are my hard work. Please do not copy it without my knowledge.

Once again thank you all for visiting my blog please keep coming back and encourage me by giving your valuable comments and suggestions.

  4. Hi Priya, I saw your question in Chennai food photography...I'm not a expert to answer..but I have a little knowledge about that...I could not find your personal mail id..that's why posting it here...I am also using digital camera...I always take pictures in natural sunlight...check this link, you will get some idea...http://www.veggiebelly.com/2010/08/food-photography-tips-tutorial-bright-white-seamless-background.html...Also you can use online photoshop like www.photoshop.com to brighten and sharpen the pic...Also there are tons of online photoshops to work with. One suggestion, change your sizes of images in your post..so that it would be more visible and appetizing..Love your blog and your recipes ...especially like your potato curries..tried it and it was yum..
