Method

Grind the ingredients mentioned in Table A and keep it aside.

Grind the ingredients mentioned in Table B separately and keep them aside. [Soak the poppy seeds in warm milk for about 15 to 20 minutes before grinding]

To Make Koftas:

In a wide bowl add the gulab jamun mix and mix with your finger really well to get rid of any lumps.

Now add the boiled and mashed potatoes, onions, green chillies, red chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and mix thoroughly.

Sprinkle water little by little and make soft pliable dough.

Make small balls with the dough.

Heat oil in a kadai; fry the balls in medium heat to golden brown colour equally on all the sides.

Drain them onto a paper towel and keep them aside.

To Make Gravy:

Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin and let it splutter, add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Now add the ground paste of table A [onion & tomato paste] and sauté until it condenses to a thick paste.

Add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt and sauté really well for about 2-3 minutes.

Now add the cashew nut paste, water [1 cup], chopped coriander leaves, salt and bring to boil. Let it boil for about 2-3 minutes, now switch off the stove.

Finally add the milk and mix thoroughly. Now the gravy is ready.

Serving Jamun Kofta Curry:

Transfer the prepared gravy to the bowl, add the fried koftas/jamun balls to the gravy.
Serve it hot with roti, naan, fried rice or pulav.

Delicious and mouth-watering Jamun Kofta curry is ready to be enjoyed.
