Zucchini Patties/Zucchini Tikkis

You want your kids to have vegies, then here’s an ingenious idea to make a perfectly healthy and tasty appetizer or evening snack for your kids. Zucchini patties are perfect appetizers or evening snacks. Do not forget to check out zucchini chutney, Zuchhini kootu which I have posted earlier.

Here’s how to make Zucchini patties with step by step photos…


Ingredients

Zucchini
2 [peeled & grated]
Potato
1 big[boiled]
Onion
1 big finely chopped
Garlic cloves
2 finely chopped
Green chillies
2 finely chopped
Red chilli powder
1 tsp
Coriander powder
½ tsp
Cumin powder
½ tsp
Black pepper powder
¼ tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Cilantro/Coriander leaves
2 tbsp finely chopped
Salt
As needed
Oil
To cook patties
Preparation time: 12 minutes      
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Makes: 20-25 patties

Method

Wash and cut the edges of the zucchini.


Peel and grate the zucchini’s. Squeeze the grated zucchini to get rid of all the water.
Boil the potato, peel the skin and mash it real good.


Add the grated zucchini to a bowl. Add the mashed potato, onion, garlic, green chillies, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, cilantro and salt. Mix everything really well.


Take one small ball of zucchini mixture and make a patty.


Heat a little oil in a tawa/pan/skillet over medium heat. Once heated, add patties and cook until golden brown. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, add oil on the sides when cooking the patties.

Delicious Zucchini patties are ready to be served. Enjoy it with a dollop of ketchup or yogurt and have a great evening.
