Sweet Corn Pakoda

Today in Priya’s Virundhu is an easy and quick flavourful corn pakoda. The weather is really cold ,so I made crispy tea snacks for my kids and incorporate as much vegetables as possible.

Here’s how to make Corn Pakoda with step by step photos…


Ingredients

Sweet Corn Kernels
2 cups [frozen]
Onion
1 finely chopped
Green chillies
2 or 3 finely chopped
Ginger & Garlic paste
1 tsp
Red chilli powder
½ tsp
Cumin seeds/Jeeragam
½ tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Rice flour
4 tbsp
Corn flour
1 tbsp
Baking soda
One pinch
Salt
As needed
Curry leaves
6-8 chopped
Oil
For deep frying
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 6- 8 people

Method

Defrost the corn and boil the sweet corn till it becomes soft. Drain the water and grind it in the mixer to a coarse paste. Then transfer it to a bowl.


Add all the ingredients in a big bowl except the oil and mix really well.


Heat oil in a kadai, make small balls with corn mixture and deep fry it in the oil until golden brown.

Drain it in a paper towel and serve it hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.


Delicious and yummy corn pakoda is ready for side dish or tea time snacks.
