Here’s how to make Fennel Potato Fry with step by step photos…

Ingredients

Potatoes
3 [big]
Onion
1 finely chopped
Garlic
5 cloves [finely chopped]
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Mustard seeds
½ tsp
Cumin seeds
1 tsp
Curry leaves
8-10
Oil
1 tbsp

For Grinding

Dry red chillies
3-4
Fennel seeds
1 tbsp
Black pepper corns
2 tsp
Cumin seeds
2 tsp
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4-5

Method

Grind the ingredients mentioned in the table “under grinding” to a fine powder and keep it aside for later.

Wash, peel and cut the potatoes to small cubes as shown in the photo.

Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds then add cumin seeds and curry leaves and fry for about 30 to 40 secs.

Add the chopped onions, garlic and fry well until it turns to golden brown colour.

Now add the potatoes, salt and fry about 3-5 minutes.

Add the ground powder to the potatoes and mix well, until the masala coats on all the potato pieces.

Add the turmeric powder and sprinkle about ¼ cup of water. Mix well, cover and cook the potatoes until done.
