Classic Creamy Mashed Potato

These creamy and delicious mashed potatoes are made during Thanksgiving dinner (USA) and other special get-togethers. It is very easy and simple, can be made in big batches the previous day and heated in the oven and served hot. I eat usually spicy food, but my kids like the mashed potato, so I make it for them. It is very filling and super delicious creamy potatoes.

Here’s how to make mashed potato with step by step photos…

Ingredients

Potatoes
2 pounds
Butter
¼ cup
Cream Cheese, softened
4 oz
Milk
½ cup
Black Pepper
1 tsp
Salt
As needed

Method

Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into pieces. Pressure cook for two to three whistles or cook them in a large pot of water for about 40 minutes or  until they are soft. [The fork should easily slide into the potatoes]

Drain the water and mash the potatoes with the masher really good.

Add the butter and give a good stir, add the cream cheese, milk and mash, mash and mash until soft and creamy. I used the regular milk, you can use half and half as well.

Add the required amount of salt, black pepper and stir really well.

Preheat the oven to 180 ˚C.

Now transfer it to the buttered baking dish and bake it in the oven for about 20 to 30 min.

Scoop it out and enjoy the creamy and delicious mashed potatoes.
