Missi Roti – Rajasthani Bread

This Missi Roti, I made it as a part of IFC challenge. Missi Roti is a Rajasthani bread which has perfect blend of spices, very flavorful and aromatic. The main ingredient behind the rich flavors and the exotic aroma of Rajasthani food is the use of ghee (traditional Indian clarified butter) in making almost all the dishes. Once again thanks a lot Mrs. Manjula for the wonderful challenge. Now let’s move on to the recipe.

Here’s how to make Missi Roti with step by step photos….

Ingredients

Wheat flour
1 cup
Gram flour/Besan flour
½ cup
Onion
1 small [finely chopped]
Green chillies
2 or 3 finely chopped
Red chilli powder
1 tsp
Cumin powder
¼ tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Ajwain/Omam/Carom seeds
¼ tsp
Coriander leaves/Cilantro
2 tbsp finely chopped
Oil
1 tbsp
Water
To make dough
Ghee
To roast
Salt
As needed
Method

In a bowl mix all the ingredients except water and ghee.

Add water little by little and form a soft dough.

Do not rest this dough because they will become loose and will become hard to roll the rotis.

Divide the dough in to equal parts and roll them with rolling pin. Dust some extra wheat flour while rolling if needed.

Heat a tawa and cook this rolled roti first one side and after few seconds flip them to cook the other side as well.

Spread some ghee on the roti while cooking. Serve them hot with any sabji or raita.

Delicious, flavourful and spicy Missi Roti is ready to be enjoyed.

If you find this post really interesting, it will really be nice if you can share it with your face back fans or twitter friends or pin it or google + circles today. I will be very happy if you can join as google follower, all it takes is just one click. All of this means a lot to me and a great encouragement as well.

Until then I am signing off…
