Today I am going to share with you all a very quick, easy, colourful and tempting evening snack. This Green Peas Vadai is totally irresistible and another shortcut to get the kids to try the dried green peas. There are certain dishes which look very complicated, everybody might think this vadai is also in the same category. But to tell you the truth, this is one of the easiest fool proof and hazzle free vadais.  Do try this Green Peas Vadai for your evening snack with a cup of hot tea or coffee, then you will surely agree with me.

Here’s how to make Green Peas Vadai with step by step photos…

Ingredients

Dry Green Peas
1 cup
Onion
1 big finely chopped
Green chillies
6-7 finely chopped
Ginger
2 tsp finely chopped
Garlic cloves
4 finely chopped
Coriander leaves/Cilantro
2 tbsp finely chopped
Curry leaves
One spring finely chopped
Salt
As needed
Oil
For Deep fry
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 -20 minutes
Makes: 15 -18 vadais

Method

Wash and soak green peas for 6-8 hours or overnight. Drain the soaked peas and wash it thoroughly with fresh water.

Grind the soaked green peas along with salt coarsely in a mixer. Do not add any water, sprinkle water only if needed. Transfer the ground paste to a wide bowl.

Now add the chopped onion, green chillies, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and curry leaves. Mix it really well to make vadai mixture.

Heat oil in a kadai, make lemon sized ball out of the mixture, pat them on your palm to form small patties.

Slowly drop them in to the hot oil and fry them to golden brown color equally on both the sides. Cook the vadais on medium flame. Drain the vadai’s from oil and drain them on a paper towel.

Simple, quick and delectable Green Peas Vadai is ready to be enjoyed. Serve them hot with a dollop of ketchup or any chutney of your choice.

Enjoy this delectable Green peas vadai with a cup of hot tea or coffee. But these vadais are good all by itself without any side dish.
