I have been thinking of posting this recipe for a very long time, but could not. This is a recipe which my grandma used to make, then my mom and now me. This onion rice is very special and has lots of medicinal values in it. My grandma used to make this rice, when someone is suffering from stomach pain. She used to say that the onions, cooked in ghee, combined with black pepper powder reduces the body heat, heals the stomach ulcer and cures the pain. I make this a lot in summer days to cool down the body temperature. My grandma makes this only with white onions, but I switch between white, red and small pearl onions depending on the availability of onions in my kitchen. Any way friends do try out this wonderful, healing Onion rice and post your feedback.

Kande Ki Sabzi/Onion Sabzi is a simple yet delectable Rajasthani recipe made with two main ingredients onions and yogurt. The onions are cooked in yogurt along with perfect blend of spices, this in turn gives a creamy and tender texture to the onions. Onion Sabzi is a perfect side dish for rotis, naan etc.

Now that summer is at its peak, everybody is busy preparing vadams, vadagams etc. My mom usually makes Vegaya Vadagam/Thalippu Vadagam at this time of the year and it comes in handy throughout the year. You can as well buy this thallipu vadagam in supermarkets or pappdam/appalam/vathal shops. The thalippu vadagam is bundled with flavour and aroma, which kick starts our senses the moment you smell it. It is used especially for tempering kaara kuzhambu, vatha kuzhambu, fish/meen kuzhambu etc, which adds extraordinary flavour, taste and aroma. Today I am going to share very simple and quick vadagam chutney which can be made in just 10 minutes. Do try out this flavourful and tasty chutney and have a great day.
