Bread Pudding

Bread pudding is a easy and a yummy dessert, kids love it when given to them after school. I have easy step by step instuctions with photos posted in my blog, do check it out...


Bread                                       - 6 slices
Vanilla essence                        - 1 tsp
Nutmeg                                    - 2 or 3 pinches 
Cinnamon                                - 1tsp
Milk                                         - 2 cups
White sugar                             - 1/2 cup
Egg                                          - 3
Butter                                      - 1/4cup  
Raisins                                     - 2tbsp


  •  In a saucepan heat the milk real good, switch off the stove add the butter and keep stirring until its melted. Cool to lukewarm
  • In a separate bowl beat the eggs real good, add the sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Beat it real good, then add the milk slowly.
  • Place the bread pieces in a greased bowl. Now sprinkle the raisins. Pour the milk mixture on top of the bread. Place another layer of bread, sprinkle the raisins and pour the milk. The bread should be soaked fully in the milk.
  • Preheat the oven for 10 min. Bake it at 180 degree C for 45 to 50 min or until set. Serve warm.
It can be served with bread pudding sauce, or the kids love it just like that. Any way I have posted the bread pudding sauce here. 

Bread Pudding sauce


Whole milk      1 cup
Butter              2 Tbsp
Sugar               1/4 cup
Vanilla             1 tsp
Corn flour or maida  1 Tbsp
Pinch of salt.


Mix everything together in a pan and bring it to boil for 4 to 5 min stirring constantly. Keep it aside to set for 5 min. You can serve it warm with bread pudding.
