Method
Clean the mushrooms with damp cloth do not wash them because they will drink up all the water. Now slice them to think pieces.

In a kadai heat oil, add cumin seeds and pepper corns and sauté for 30 sec. Add onions, green chillies and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add ginger & garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell goes off. Now add the tomatoes sauté them until they are mushy.

Add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and sauté for about a min.

Add the mushrooms, salt and mix really well.

Add little water [1/4 cup] cover and cook the mushrooms for about 3-4 min.

Open the lid, add the pepper powder, cilantro and mix well and cook until the oil separates.

  2. I too was not a big fan of mushrooms but these days the varieties sold are hell of a lot, so I can find those I like better than the rest. Lovely simple side, nicely flavors and awesome as usual for our white rice.
