Instant Poondu Milagai Podi/Instant Garlic Milagai Podi – No Grinding [Side Dish for Idlis, Dosas & Uthappams]

Do not have time to prepare side dish for idlis and dosas ? Do you want to make it within minutes? Then you are at the right place, here’s an easy and quick Poondu Milagai Podi that can be made in minutes. This is my MOM’s special, we all just love it. The best part is, it involves no grinding and can be made with just 3 ingredients. I will strongly suggest this for bachelors because it is one of the easiest but tastiest milagai podi. And one more thing, you can prepare this and keep it for a week also at room temperature, it will not get spoilt. Here’s how to make Instant Poondu Milagai Podi with step by step photos…


Ingredients

Red Chilli Powder/Sambar Powder
3 tbsp
Garlic cloves/Poondu
6-8 crushed
Gingelly oil [Must]
3-4 tbsp
Salt
As needed
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes

Method

In a bowl add red chilli powder/sambar powder, salt, oil, crushed garlic and mix everything well.


Switch on the stove and keep the bowl, start stirring. You will start to see the bubbles and the colour of red chilli powder will change as shown in the photo and the garlic also will get cooked. By this time the raw smell will also vanish and you will get a nice spicy and garlicky aroma. Now switch off the stove.


Spicy and delicious Instant Poondu Milagai Podi is ready to be enjoyed. Serve this with hot idlis and dosas.

Suggestions:

Use only gingelly oil to make this podi.
You can have this milagai podi for about a week also at room temperature, it will not get spoiled.
