Method

In a wide bowl , add wheat flour and required amount of salt. Mix everything in dry form so that salt is evenly distributed.

Add water little by little and start making dough.

The dough should be soft pliable dough. At this stage add 1 tsp of oil and knead it well. The dough should not be too tight or too loose. It should not be sticky as well.

Cover it and keep it aside for about 30 minutes. Open it and knead it well again for about 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into equal parts and roll them into thin circles using rolling pin. Dust some extra wheat flour while rolling the chapatis.

Heat the tawa on medium flame, when it is hot enough, add the rolled chapatti.

Cook on one side, drizzle oil along the sides. Flip and cook on the other side as well.

Smear up the chapathi with some oil/ghee and serve it hot.

Delicious, healthy Chapathi is ready to be enjoyed. Serve it hot with any Kurma variety of your choice or with simple Dahi Aloo.

Suggestions:

Rub your hands with oil, before you start to knead the dough. This prevents it from sticking to our hand.

Cook the chapathis only on medium flame and cook evenly on both the sides.

If you are going to serve them for later, stack them up and put them between kitchen towels and store it in containers.
