Method
Roast
the rava until warm, sprinkle water and mix the rava with hand until it looks
like bread crumbs.
Now cut
a clean cloth (cotton) for your Idli plate, cut a hole in the middle so that
the cloth slides through the idli stand on to the plate.
[Use
only clean, washed cloth and keep it only for steaming purpose. I think you
will remember the days when our mothers used cloth for idli plates to make idli’s]
Now wet
the cloth, squeeze all the water and place it on the idli plate. Then spread the rava mix on the idli
plate as shown in the photo. Later close the rava mix with the excess cloth.
Now steam it in idli cooker for 15 min.
After
it is cooked, transfer the cooked rava to the bowl. Then add cardamom powder,
grated coconut, sugar and mix really good with hand. Now, yummy rava puttu is
ready to be served.
Note:
If you think rava is dry after cooking, just sprinkle little hot water or hot
milk and mix it well
Serving
suggestion: You can serve it with banana and milk.
Your
kids will surely love it, so give it a try…
