Ragi/Kelvaragu Vadai

Anyone ready for healthy and delightful vadai, here it is – Ragi Vadai. Once you start eating it you cannot stop eating this. Do check out other Vadai Varieties here and Starters/EveningSnacks/Appetizers here.

Here’s how to make it with step by step photos…

Ragi flour
One cup
Roasted or fried gram/Pottu kadalai
½ cup
½ cup
Rice Flour
1 tbsp
1 big finely chopped
Green chillies
3 or 4 finely chopped
½ inch piece finely chopped
2 tbsp finely chopped
Curry leaves
To make vadas
As needed

Other Vadai varieties that might be of your interest...

Grind the fried grams and peanuts coarsely. Make sure it is coarse and not fine. I used the dry roasted peanuts, which is always a better choice.

Now mix the ground flour and rest of the ingredients mentioned above, except the oil. Now add water little by little to make vadai mixture. It should be crumbly so that you will be able to make vada.

Heat oil in kadai, make lemon sized ball out of the mixture, pat them on your palm to form circles to medium thickness.

Slowly drop them in to the hot oil and fry them to golden brown color.

Yummy and delicious ragi vadai is ready to be enjoyed.
